Continuation of "ACTION x INACTION - PART II". Below, that was the matter posted to SEAN and his answer to the matter: Now, I propose to SEAN to take the ideas and forms from 5, 7 and 9 while religious figures in figure 13 and use together this figures with the figures 8, 9 and 10 from "ACTION x INACTION - PART II". SEAN will maked with this images above, 15 (fifteen) different images with the same process SEAN maked the figures (8, 9 and 10). But now, SEAN will needed to use background with horizontal 3543 pixels x vertical 2356 pixels with definition of 300 dpi. Send one by one for me with comments about. Send only the images that you have certain you already finished in comparition with the others. Think in the same time about a name or title for all the images, but individually when you will maked one by one in comparition with the othes. Have a nice artworks. Calmly and stilly. If you need, use the information and the figures into these webpages about these religions. 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoroastrianism 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity 3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam Images for download:
SIMÃO MONTEIRO: The first part of our artistic residence ended with the construction of the digital "image" of the figure 7 just below: Now we have three artworks from SEAN BIRMINGHAM (figures 8, 9 and 10 below) and two artworks from SIMÃO MONTEIRO (figures 11 and 12 below): There is much suggestions of a religious imagenery in these three artworks from SEAN. Now, you will look at these eighteen religious symbols below and choice three of these. Describe each of the three and state why you chose them?
Please use the comments label. And refer to the religious symbols by the number. Have a nice work. If you have any doubts, ask me about. Give to you freedom to write about I suggested. If one label of comments is not enough, use two labels or more. SIMÃO MONTEIRO: Hello Sean, how are you? Here and now we begin our creative experience. But, initially, it will be a discursive experience, but soon we will move on to the practice. From what I investigated from some of his comments, possible to affirm from that comments, that his thought is structured in a constant interaction between [action x inaction]. In our initial activities we will try to define how this structure of your thought pass through your actions and [decisions | choices] in your creatives artworks. Look to this picture and imagine which of your drawings, paintings or any kind of your artworks is possible to be digitally fused to this picture? FIGURE 1 - first file sended by SIMÃO to SEAN. Tell me about what your idea to do that? About the why of this fusion is necessary? And send to me your choice using the form for sending .pdf or .jpg files which have beside. SEAN BIRMINGHAM: Done ... I downloaded the image above you sended to me and created this with the piece I sended to you. FIGURE 2 - first file sended by SEAN to SIMÃO. This picture is primarily several different colored circles, however it is too simple, so to make it slightly more complex and pleasing to the eye there are some circles of different colors that seem to Branch out from the core, in the center is a foreign object inserted into one of the arms of the circle almost resembling a uterus being fertilized by its complimenting counterpart. It was my choice to use this piece as Simão's has well defined curves as well as straight lines that correspond well with my piece as a counter balance. The colors of my piece fill in the gaps of Simão's where there is more of a white contrast to the the center subjects. The fusion of the two compliment each other well. Even the vertical red lines in the center of Simão's work well with the near-phallic center of my piece. SIMÃO MONTEIRO: This is the image you sended to me. FIGURE 3 - file used by Sean to do the file in the figure 2. I taken this image you sended to me and I fusioned with the image I send to you. But I had to think at the same time about the comment you sended. And I obtained the image bellow: Figura 4 - file from the figure 1, fusioned by Simão with the file from the figure 3. I did what I did] because you say in your comment: "The fusion of the two, compliment each other well. Even the vertical red lines in the center of Simão's work well with the near-phallic center of my piece." But I tried to turn the {(one)-[vertical phallus] into [(one)-horizontal-existence]} to compose the image. Atention: Attention: all the graphic signs in this speech are important in axiological terms. Now I ask you Sean: What is the relationship between the figure 2 and the figure 4? It will be possible to fuse these two images to emerge another one image? Or would have another solution better for the two images? SEAN BIRMINGHAM: I didn't see any relationship between figure 2 and figure 4 until I began to merge them. I altered the overlay of figure 2 to coincide with the 4 boxes of Simão's work, in which you can see the phallic curves curling into Simão's boxes and also curve back into the center. What is more interesting to me is the illusion of order in the picture which is somewhat off balance as the strong outlines of Simão's piece (figure 4) show themselves in a subtle way however it seems appealing to my eyes as I look up close and see the deception. What I have now created between figure 2 and 4 is an attempt at the organization of the concepts of curves and straight lines (figura 5). FIGURE 5 - fusion between figure 2 and 4 by SEAN BIRMINGHAM. SIMÃO MONTEIRO: This image in figure 5 is impressive. The fusion that Sean establish between the two images (2 and 4) and on which Sean claims to have the illusion of order, is the same showing to themselves in a subtle way and what however seems appealing to our eyes. Because this is the last vision for the deception in our minds, that comes from the first relationship between the two separete images (2 and 4). Why this is occur? Because trought of the "imagining" we are not capable to representing the fusion between the images 2 and 4, but only "believe" in that fusion or not. And this "belief" is an axiology struture, possible or impossible about (one)-existence. Now we will tried to change our capabilities to view these "images" as overlays. First of all, I send to Sean the four files below:
What will do you need will to do with these four "images"? See the "image" below and make one background with some forms of this "image" (figure 6), and use some parts of the other four "images" (1, 2, 3 and 4) to make a figures on this background that you will created. But you can not fuse images with overlays, but rather, make "continuations" from one "image" or part of one "image" (1, 2, 3 and 4) to another "image" (1, 2, 3 and 4). And you will need to use all the four "images" to make the figure that you will put over the background you maked with figure 6 (below). FIGURE 6 - picture from SIMÃO MONTEIRO. Have a nice work and if you have any questions, ask. SEAN BIRMINGHAM: The answer about the exercise above is: [??] (double question mark). And it's possible to follow at the figure 7 below: FIGURE 7 - artwork from SEAN BIRMINGHAM
